This position provides field support for technology products such as communications and networked surveillance equipment. It requires hands-on technical skills, strong troubleshooting ability, and a customer-first attitude. Role Priorities /
Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and repair communication systems.
Including:
mobile cellular communications equipment, wireless network products, and satellite equipment (e.g., PBX, modems, routers, satellite terminals, and hard-wired connections). Support maintenance and repair of surveillance systems including IP cameras, NVRs, and supporting powered components. Configure and troubleshoot network, telephony, and satellite terminal-related systems. Perform routine maintenance and system checks; complete field retrofits and upgrades. Communicate job progress and issues to customers, project managers, and management. Crosstrain and collaborate with additional field operations as required.
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of basic networking concepts and low-voltage systems. Familiarity with various Video Management Systems (VMS) and IP-based cameras. Ability to work independently or with minimal remote guidance. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and strong customer service orientation. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Ability to lift and carry up to 60 lbs as lifting batteries during installation may be required. Ability to work outside in the elements (heat, rain, mud, cold) Ability to drive a ½ ton pick-up truck and experience towing and hauling a trailer. Ability to work on ladders and at heights greater than 10 feet from the ground. Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test and background screen Education or Certification required (if applicable): Training from a two-year vocational or technical program or equivalent field experience. 1-2 years of experience in surveillance, communications, or related low-voltage installation work.
