We've built a loyal patient base through personalized, thoughtful care, and we're looking for someone who shares that same mindset. Unlike high-volume corporate practices, we keep our patient load intentionally light, giving our team time to actually connect with patients instead of rushing through appointments. We're a small, close-knit team where everyone pitches in, and where you're valued as a person, not just a role. If you want an environment where you can grow your skills while genuinely getting to know your patients and coworkers, we'd love to meet you. About the Role As our Optical Assistant / Optometric Technician, you'll play a key part in both patient care and daily office operations.
Your responsibilities will include:
Greeting and checking in patients Scheduling appointments and answering phones Performing pretesting and basic technician duties Helping patients select frames and lenses, if needed Providing friendly, personalized optical assistance Verifying insurance benefits and assisting with billing Entering and maintaining patient records in our EMR Helping keep the office organized and inviting This is a hands-on, patient-facing role — you'll learn a range of responsibilities rather than being confined to a single task. Qualities We Value Optometry or ophthalmology experience is preferred, but we're willing to train the right person.
Ideal candidates are:
People-oriented, with a strong customer service mindset Warm, friendly, and professional Clear communicators who work well in a small team Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Comfortable picking up new technology and systems Genuinely interested in eye care and patient wellbeing Ready to jump in and help wherever needed Experience with optical sales, pretesting, EMR systems, insurance verification, or medical-office work is a plus. Pay rate & Benefits $21-$25/hour, based on experience and qualifications, with room to grow Healthcare coverage, if needed Paid national holidays Paid time off and sick leave 401(k) benefits Schedule Full-time Must be available to work 2 Saturdays per month (9-3pm) Interested? If you're looking for a close-knit, low-volume private practice where you can build real relationships with patients, we'd love to hear from you.
Pay:
