Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm Facility location: Chester, CT Department Repair (116) Employment Type Full Time Location Chester, CT Workplace type Onsite Reporting To Jim Carey Duties and Responsibilities Troubleshooting, failure analysis and repair of Whelen Emergency lighting and mechanical siren devices. Communicate and document design problems, component failures and initial failures on newly designed product. Maintain high work output without sacrificing quality. Complete all administrative function relating to documentation of work performed and regulatory requirements. Perform revision updates, rework, or repair to drawing specifications using a variety of hand tools, test fixtures, electronic test equipment and soldering equipment. Replace broken assemblies and subassemblies and solder as needed. As required assist with the receiving and shipping of items sent in for service Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Ability to read electronic assembly and schematic drawings. Must read and write in English. Computer literate
Normal Color Vision Vision:
Close vision; ability to work on electronic circuit boards with very small electronic components Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally up to 40 pounds. Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach with hands, and arm length, stoop, kneel and crouch. Ability to use hands to finger, handle or feel. Ability to learn and maintain J-STD-10 and IPC-a-610II Soldering Standards Work in a team environment Maintain a clean and organized work area to facilitate safety and service functions. High School w/1-3 + years' experience or AA/AS/Technical School w/6 months experience Physical demands and abilities Able to lift up to 35 pounds Regularly performs repetitive tasks Able to stand entire shift Regularly possesses manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
