The HVAC Technician position is a key role at Prime Air. You are the "tip of the spear" when it comes to serving our customers. Your quality of service, friendly demeanor, attention to detail and professionalism go a long way in making Prime Air a memorable company in the eyes of our clients. The HVAC Technician represents the future leadership of Prime Air 's Operations Department. HVAC Techs who show a willingness to learn new things and effectively put them into practice have an excellent opportunity to pursue a greater role with u s . Summary of Responsibilities HVAC Technician responsibilities include traveling to customers' homes or businesses, talking with customers about their HVAC needs, identifying problems, performing maintenance and installations as needed, and prioritizing calls in coordination with Dispatch. In summary, you will work with customers to ensure their HVAC units run smoothly at all times and perform necessary installations and repairs. Production Efficiently work with your apprentice, doing your part to ensure that all standard operating procedures are followed. Timely arrival and completion of all scheduled work each day. Ensure appropriate load-out of work vehicle(s) each day. Look for opportunities to increase daily revenue through simple up-sells and additional scheduled work (when ahead of schedule), in coordination with Dispatch Meet or exceed Company production targets each day Ensure that all of your personal work meets or exceeds quality standards. Customer Relations Do your part to ensure that each customer is extremely pleased with the experience. Follow all standard operating procedures and customer service principles at all times. Conduct yourself in a professional and pleasant manner at all times. Operations Do your part to make sure all tools and materials are loaded up and accounted for before leaving the shop or a jobsite. Maintain clear and frequent communication with Dispatch throughout the day Ensure that you follow all standard operating procedures Key Skills And Qualities The HVAC Technician must display a number of key skills and qualities to be effective. This is a fast paced, sometimes hectic work assignment. Most importantly, the Service Technician must care for our customers in an exceptional way at all times, regardless of circumstances. An effective HVAC Technician will be able to smoothly carry out all Prime Air standard operating procedures at all times while completing tasks in an efficient and productive manner. Below are some key skills and qualities that we are looking for in HVAC Technician candidates: Discuss HVAC options with clients in a confident and friendly manner On-site problem solving and troubleshooting, including conducting performance tests, diagnosing electrical/mechanical faults, and cleaning, adjusting, and repairing systems Comply with appliance standards and with Occupational Health and Safety Act regulations Ability to leverage an Apprentice's activity to increase production and efficiency Timeliness and reliability Positive, friendly demeanor, even when faced with negativity or hostility Professional appearance and personal hygiene A desire to learn new things and make rapid advancement, not only with P rime Air , but in life. Humility and teachability A love for serving others Requirements Completion of an HVAC training program at a vocational school or apprenticeship OR proven work experience as an HVAC technician or similar role Certification through the Environmental Protection Agency to handle refrigerants required Valid driver's license and ability to drive company vehicles KPIs Service Technicians will have their performance graded against Key Performance Indicators First Time Fix Rate % Average Revenue Per Service Call Average Revenue Per Day Average Upsell/Add On Revenue Per Day Customer Satisfaction Data (Reviews) Compensation Prime Air compensates Service Technicians using a Flat Rate pay structure. Each type of service call has a predetermined pay rate based upon billable hours. Service technicians earn this Flat Rate, regardless of the hours it takes to complete the job. You will always be paid your base minimum wage for your Clocked Hours, but in addition, you will receive additional "Bonus" pay above those Clocked Hours, up to the total amount of Flat Rate Hours worked. Your supervisor will walk you through the compensation process in more detail during your onboarding period.
