Job Description
TowBoatU.S. Greater Tampa Bay is seeking a full-time, Service Technician to join our growing team. 14 World Cat vessels 38 Honda outboard engines. Overview & Responsibilities The Marine Service Technician is responsible for the repair of boats, shop, and its machinery small engine pumps, compressors and boat trailers. Diagnose, test, repair, replace, remove, and install marine engines, electronics, and electrical equipment. Mechanical knowledge of gas engines Assess projects, budget time, determine parts required Perform diagnostics and repair of marine engines, hydraulic systems, pumps, steering, and electrical components Perform mechanical repair work such as: Remove engine, disassemble unit, and inspect parts for wear, replace batteries, starters, pumps, electrical and fuel systems, rewire lighting systems and distribution panels Install and repair accessories such as radios, DC systems and deck equipment Operate a hydraulic jack, hoist or forklift as needed. Complete repair work within the established timeframe Safely operate vessels during diagnostic water testing operations Maintain tools in good condition and according to guidelines Maintain 100% productivity Reports to:
Service Manager Requirements Job Requirements:
2-4 years' experience in the marine trades or similar Licenses or certifications are a plus! Efficient knowledge and mechanical skills Ability to work independently or as part of a team Detail oriented Capable of working in a fast-paced environment Valid Fl driver's license High School diploma or equivalent ABYC, and manufacturer certifications an advantage Good verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated ability to prioritize and work unsupervised Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must be comfortable working in small tight spaces Must be able to crawl, kneel, sit, stand, and climb for long periods of time Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions

High school or equivalent (Preferred)

2 years Trailering vessels
License/Certification:
Driver's License with clean driving record (Required)
