Cox Automotive is seeking a Reconditioning Service Technician II to support vehicle remarketing within our telecommunications and media-driven automotive platforms. In this role, you'll inspect, diagnose, and perform mechanical and cosmetic reconditioning on vehicles to meet auction and retail standards. Responsibilities include using diagnostic equipment, completing minor repairs, coordinating with service advisors, and documenting work in digital systems. You'll help maintain shop safety and quality, support process improvements, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, ready-for-sale vehicles for our dealer and commercial clients. Responsibilities Inspect incoming vehicles for mechanical and cosmetic issues Diagnose basic mechanical problems using tools and diagnostic equipment Perform minor mechanical repairs, adjustments, and part replacements Execute cosmetic reconditioning such as light body, paint prep, and detailing tasks Document all work performed in shop management or digital tracking systems Ensure vehicles meet auction and retail-ready quality and safety standards Collaborate with service advisors and lane/auction teams to prioritize work Follow safety, environmental, and equipment maintenance procedures Support process improvements to increase reconditioning speed and quality Assist with organizing tools, parts, and workflow in the reconditioning area Required Skills Automotive diagnostics Basic mechanical repair Brake and suspension service Electrical troubleshooting (basic) Vehicle inspection and condition reporting Use of OBD-II and scan tools Shop safety and OSHA awareness Digital work order and shop software usage Detailing and cosmetic reconditioning Time management in high-volume environments
