The Warranty/Repair Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, testing, and supporting electronic and telecommunications equipment while ensuring high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction. This position works closely with engineering, production, and customer representatives to diagnose issues, perform repairs, validate system performance, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Repair, Testing & Troubleshooting Conduct equipment debugging, troubleshooting, and repair to the circuit board level. Perform system and subassembly inspections to verify compliance with quality standards. Build, test, and troubleshoot new hardware designs, subassemblies, and finished products using drawings, layouts, wiring diagrams, and written or verbal instructions. Perform formal Repair Acceptance Testing (RAT) with customer representatives. Assist engineering personnel with test execution, validation, and verification activities. Help diagnose system and unit-level issues and recommend production improvements. Identify recurring issues and trends and assist with root cause analysis activities. Support corrective actions and process improvement initiatives to enhance repair quality and efficiency. Assembly & Integration Assemble, install, and wire backplanes, subassembly carriers, and subassemblies into communications system rack assemblies. Work from engineering drawings, specifications, and verbal instructions to complete assembly and integration activities. Install and configure computer clients, servers, and network switches within a networked environment. Inspect, package, and prepare outgoing systems and materials for shipment. Warranty & Inventory Support Monitor repair part inventories and communicate inventory needs to ensure timely repairs. Recommend warranty replacement parts and support equipment disposition activities, including storage and scrapping recommendations. Maintain accountability, tracking, monitoring, and disposition of customer-owned equipment received for repair. Ensure repairs meet the highest quality standards before equipment is returned to customers. Maintain accurate repair records and documentation. Required Qualifications Experience using system configuration documentation to assemble and test telecommunications or electronic equipment. Experience with computer hardware, software, and peripherals, including loading software applications onto client and server systems. Experience loading, configuring, and testing files and software within IT edge equipment. Knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems, wiring practices, and electronic hardware assembly techniques. Ability to use multimeters and other electronic test equipment to perform functional testing, continuity checks, and troubleshooting. Proficiency with Microsoft Windows operating systems and common computer peripherals. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently while effectively communicating progress, issues, and solutions to appropriate personnel. Preferred Qualifications Associate's Degree or two-year technical degree in Electronics, Electrical Technology, Telecommunications, Computer Technology, or a related field. Formal soldering training or soldering certification. Experience repairing electronic, telecommunications, networking, or communications systems equipment. Experience working with communications rack systems, servers, switches, or related hardware. Previous experience in a manufacturing, electronics repair, defense, aerospace, or telecommunications environment.
Pay:
$25.00 - $45.00 per hour
