Job Description
Mechanical Service Technician Position Overview We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Service Technician to support the service, maintenance, repair, and optimization of HVAC and mechanical systems across healthcare and commercial facilities. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional with strong troubleshooting abilities and experience working in occupied environments where system reliability and customer service are critical. Key Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on HVAC and mechanical systems. Troubleshoot and repair chillers, boilers, pumps, cooling towers, air handling units (AHUs), fan coil units (FCUs), VAV systems, and building automation controls. Respond to planned and emergency service calls while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. Conduct equipment start-ups, system testing, commissioning support, and operational assessments. Identify and recommend energy-saving opportunities, system upgrades, and long-term maintenance solutions. Complete service documentation, work orders, and inspection reports accurately and on time. Maintain compliance with all safety standards, healthcare regulations, and site-specific protocols. Build and maintain strong relationships with facility managers, engineers, and maintenance personnel. Qualifications 3+ years of experience servicing commercial HVAC and mechanical systems. Strong knowledge of boilers, chillers, hydronic systems, HVAC controls, pumps, and related mechanical equipment. Experience working in healthcare, hospital, life sciences, or large commercial facilities preferred. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and control sequences. EPA Certification preferred. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Strong problem-solving skills and customer-focused approach.
