About the Role As a Field Service Specialist for commercial entryways, you will be responsible for maintaining the operational integrity and security of industrial door systems. By leveraging your mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting expertise, you will ensure that client facilities remain functional, safe, and compliant with industry standards. Responsibilities Execute the installation, adjustment, and repair of diverse commercial door systems, loading docks, and specialized hardware. Diagnose complex mechanical and electrical failures, implementing effective solutions for springs, hinges, and automated access control components. Configure and integrate low-voltage hardware and electronic entry systems to meet specific site requirements. Verify that all completed work adheres strictly to safety protocols and local building code regulations. Deliver high-quality service by clearly communicating technical findings and repair options to facility managers. Maintain precise documentation of service logs and installation history to ensure accurate reporting. Perform rigorous quality inspections to guarantee that every repair meets long-term performance benchmarks. Collaborate with team members to resolve technical challenges in fast-paced, high-demand environments. Required Skills High school diploma or equivalent. 4+ years of hands-on experience in the commercial door or industrial hardware sector. Demonstrated proficiency with hand and power tools, including precise measurement capabilities. Physical capability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders up to 20 feet, and perform tasks in varied physical positions. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and ability to pass background and drug screenings. Preferred Skills AAADM certification for automatic door systems. Prior experience with welding or fabrication techniques. Familiarity with storefront glazing and hollow metal frame installation. Basic computer literacy for digital reporting and service management software.
