Precision Laser Service Technician Summary:
As a Service Technician you will be required to. Troubleshoot, repair, calibrate and adjust various types of precision instruments used in the construction, surveying and engineering fields. Complete repairs and installations in a safe and timely manner. Install new parts when needed to assure that the service unit is working to factory and Precisions Laser's expectations. Perform the duties listed below and any additional duties listed on a detailed job description that accompany this general description.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Including but not limited to the following. Pre-inspects systems or units upon assignment from Shop Manager. Applies knowledge and ability to perform technical repairs according to schedule. Diagnose and troubleshoots problems with appropriate test equipment to determine most efficient course of action. Create Service Estimates and determine repair cost in order to obtain authorization prior to beginning the service process. Completes service in a timely manner. Recommends and explains additional service when needed. Finalizes service order information to include pricing. Communicates with Shop Manager to obtain any needed service parts or components and to verify completion of the service process. Responds to customer inquiries and provides price information as requested. Inspects and tests new equipment prior to signing off and shipping to customer. Maintains the service area in a safe, clean and orderly manner. Completes necessary training courses required by PLI to update and learn new capabilities for the benefit of both the Technician and the Company.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform all the tasks listed above and below satisfactorily. Education:
High school diploma or GED minimum required. Ability to complete any service training courses required to perform the job to PLI expectation. Updating and continuing education on new products and equipment as required. Proficient in Microsoft office.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as technical manuals, parts diagrams, safety rules, OSHA requirements and MSDS sheets. Ability to clearly write any routine documents required for this position. Ability to communicate affectively to a group or supervisor is necessary.
Math Ability:
The ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions, part costs, proportions, percentages and volumes. Ability to apply basic concepts of math and algebra is required.
Computer Skills:
The individual should have knowledge of word processing software, inventory software, order processing and invoicing software.
Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a team member encounters while performing the essentials functions of this job. While performing duties of this job, the team member is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals and other hazardous material. Must maintain knowledge of safety requirements, OSHA requirements and MSDS information is required.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are those that must be met by a team member to satisfactorily perform this job. The team member must frequently lift and/or move objects of up to 40 lbs. Specific vision abilities include close visual situations. Regularly required to use hands. Frequently required to sit, walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee may have to occasionally stoop or kneel.
Pay:
$23.00 - $28.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
