Position Summary Gallegos Paving is seeking a dependable and experienced Service Technician to maintain and repair our fleet of construction equipment, trucks, vehicles, and machinery. The ideal candidate has hands-on mechanical experience and the ability to inspect, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment efficiently to keep our fleet safe, reliable, and ready for operation. Responsibilities Perform preventive and routine maintenance on construction equipment, trucks, vehicles, and machinery. Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and equipment issues. Service and repair diesel engines, hydraulic and electrical systems, brakes, steering, suspension, cooling systems, and other components. Perform oil changes, filter changes, lubrication, fluid checks, and scheduled maintenance. Conduct equipment inspections and identify needed repairs or safety concerns. Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform repairs in the shop or at jobsites as needed. Complete repairs efficiently to minimize equipment downtime. Identify needed parts and communicate repair needs and equipment status to supervisors. Maintain accurate maintenance, inspection, and repair records. Properly maintain Company tools, equipment, and work areas. Follow Company safety procedures and properly use required PPE. Perform additional maintenance and repair duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous Service Technician, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, or similar experience preferred. Experience maintaining and repairing construction or heavy equipment preferred. Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and general mechanical repair. Ability to diagnose equipment problems and perform preventive maintenance. Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop equipment. Dependable, safety-minded, and able to work independently and as part of a team. Valid driver's license preferred.
