The Entry Technician, Mobile Repair position is a great opportunity for a resilient, team-minded individual who doesn't stray away from a challenge What you'll do: Conducts railcar inspections to ensure cars are in compliance. Performs repairs as necessary while always using current repair procedures. Meets the expectations and requirements of all customers to ensure we deliver exceptional customer experience. Ensures all necessary invoicing, inspection, and work order information is accurate and complete. Has the ability to pass any required NDT disciplines and function specific certifications, which may include tank car welding, and demonstrates strong familiarity with AAR rules and regulations. Actively participates in safety assessments, equipment inspections. Able to perform confined space monitoring and create hot work permits. Follows all safety rules and practices. May be involved in safety committees or initiatives. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Ability to learn basic railcar knowledge. Ability to prepare cars for Touch up or for other surface prep work, including masking of areas needed. Ability to do Mechanical/Assembly Repairs to railcars. Ability to use basic hand and power tools. Ability to learn basic knowledge of how to read Engineering drawings. Ability to pass DOT Requirements is a plus. Understand and perform all work outlined under Supervision. Any type of general labor, construction or manufacturing experience Railcar Experience is a plus. Valid Driver's License and clean driving record
