Duties include disassembling engine assemblies; cleaning and preparing engine components using chemical, mechanical, and abrasive processes; machining and resurfacing engine parts; using precision measuring instruments, including micrometers and calipers; inspecting components for quality-control compliance; interpreting manufacturer service manuals and technical specifications; troubleshooting engine-component defects; maintaining production records; and coordinating work with other technicians to meet production goals and quality standards.
