Job Description

Drops Designer Wolf Line Construction is a growing construction company that provides fiber optic installation services throughout the United States. Wolf Line Construction operates in partnership with its clients to provide fiber optic and energized space installations, throughout the U.S. We leverage our combined experience, industry expertise/relationships, committed team, and network of line work professionals to appropriately resource and execute projects for our clients.
Position:
Wolf Line Construction is seeking a Drops Designer to work both in the field and the office identifying site-specific issues, documenting GPS locations, navigating maps and design platforms, and communicating potential construction conflicts before work begins.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Navigating to customer locations using GPS and mapping applications.
  • Locating the serving terminal, pedestal, pole, handhole, or other network facility.
  • Verifying the customer's address and service location.
  • Interacting and informing customers of fiber drop installation process.
  • Confirming the proposed fiber route.
  • Identifying Network Interface Device (NID) locations.
  • Identifying obstacles or conditions that were not visible through mapping or aerial imagery.
  • Determining whether the drop should be aerial or underground based on project requirements.
  • Identifying potential bore, trench, driveway, road, or utility conflicts.
  • Photographing and documenting unusual or difficult conditions.
  • Reporting discrepancies between the design database and actual field conditions.
  • Recommending alternate routes when the original design is not constructible.
  • Communicating issues that require engineering, permitting, or customer approval.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with fiber optic, telecommunications, utility, OSP, or similar construction preferred.
  • Experience with GIS, mapping, GPS, CAD, or fiber design software preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand utility maps, aerial imagery, construction plans, and design drawings.
  • Strong understanding of fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) construction is preferred.
  • Ability to navigate using GPS, mobile mapping applications, and field data collection tools.
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
  • Ability to work independently in the field with limited supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and the ability to learn company-specific software and design platforms. Company Benefits
