A Tower Technician works under close and direct supervision of the Field Supervisor to assist with the construction, installation, maintenance and repair of antenna systems, communication towers and support structures. Key requirements of the job are: Reporting on time, prepared for each scheduled work day/shift. Ability to read, understand and follow all company policies and procedures. Ability to correctly identify and properly use all basic hand tools required for this position. Working rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime, as requested. Frequent overnight travel is required. Identifying parts and materials related to the industry. Assisting in the preparation and cleaning of job sites. Knowledge of installation techniques of ground kits, cables, connectors, weatherproofing, antennas, and all associated materials and equipment. Ability to learn how to dress, bend, form and support coax, wire and waveguide cables. Maintaining good housekeeping, both at the warehouse/office and the job site, which will require cleaning, sweeping, removing trash, organizing company vehicles, and warehouse. Align microwave antennas, and set azimuths and elevations on cellular antennas. Working productively and efficiently throughout each shift, following all company policies, procedures, safety practices and instructions. Have aptitude and interest in climbing towers and the ability to earn and maintain climbing and rigging certifications. Ability to obtain CPR and Adult First Aid certification.

Job Qualifications Needed:

Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and a clean, insurable driving record. Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check. Must have reliable transportation. Must be able to work any shift, and overtime as needed. Basic computer skills, including use of MS Office applications and file navigation required. Situational awareness and a keen sense of direction are essential to this position. Must be able to read and comprehend regulations and directions in English and possess good oral communication skills. Ability to read and understand construction drawings. Must be comfortable working above ground, at elevated heights, while utilizing proper safety equipment. Must be able to work independently, under limited supervision. Must be in good physical condition and have excellent stamina. Must be organized with a strong attention to detail. 1+ year(s) general construction, electrical, technical or mechanical experience is preferred. Training may be provided to the right individual. Industrial first aid and rescue training, or willingness to learn. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Must be able to lift and support body weight. High school diploma required, some college or technical training preferred. Working Environment Most work is performed outside on job sites, with exposure to adverse conditions, such as working at heights of 300 feet plus, in inclement weather, and at remote sites. Employees work in the field with exposure to RF emissions and construction materials. Employees may be required to work irregular, late, or long hours and drive/travel long distances. May be required to bend, sit, squat, stand, crawl, walk, climb ladders, push/pull, kneel, reach above shoulder level and use fine motor skills repeatedly and for extended periods during a normal workday. Must be able to lift 75 pounds. Must be able to pull his/her body weight, plus equipment up a vertical tower repeatedly for long periods of time. Overnight travel may be required. Position requires dexterity, good vision and involves demanding physical activity and exertion. May be required to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
