This role is ideal for a skilled low-voltage professional who enjoys hands-on installation work while leading crews and delivering high-quality results for customers. As a Field Technician, you'll oversee the installation of structured cabling systems , fiber infrastructure , and low-voltage technologies in commercial environments. You'll serve as a technical leader in the field, ensuring projects are completed safely, accurately, and professionally while maintaining strong customer relationships. Experience with structured cabling is required. Experience with CCTV, access control, and electronic door lock systems is a plus. What You'll Do Lead field crews on structured cabling and low-voltage installation projects. Install, terminate, test, label, and troubleshoot Cat 6 and fiber optic cabling systems. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, floor plans, and project documentation. Coordinate onsite activities with customers, contractors, project managers, and internal teams. Perform copper and fiber terminations, patch panel installations, rack buildouts, and cable management. Support the installation and troubleshooting of CCTV, access control, and electronic security systems. Ensure installations meet project specifications, industry standards, and code requirements. Perform testing, documentation, labeling, and project closeout activities. Identify and communicate project risks, material shortages, safety concerns, or scope changes. Maintain a safe, organized, and professional work environment. Participate in an on-call rotation as needed. What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications High school diploma or GED. 5+ years of hands-on field experience in structured cabling, low-voltage infrastructure, or related installation work. Demonstrated experience leading crews and coordinating field activities. Strong knowledge of Cat 6 cabling, fiber optic systems, terminations, testing, and troubleshooting. Ability to read construction drawings, blueprints, cable schedules, and project documentation. Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field. Preferred Qualifications Technical school training or coursework in low-voltage, fiber, electrical, telecommunications, or construction-related disciplines. Certifications related to structured cabling, fiber optics, CCTV, access control, or manufacturer-specific systems. Experience with CCTV, access control, electronic door locks, and security technologies. Experience using Microsoft 365, Teams, mobile applications, and work order management systems. Physical Requirements Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and climbing ladders. Ability to work above ceilings, in equipment rooms, and in confined spaces when required. Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds. Ability to safely operate from ladders, lifts, and elevated work areas.
