Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Low Voltage Technician to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in designing, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low-voltage electrical systems across a variety of telecommunications and networking environments. As a senior member of the team, you will leverage your technical expertise to deliver exceptional service, ensure system integrity, and support complex projects. Your proactive approach and technical proficiency will drive successful outcomes for our clients and contribute to the seamless operation of their communication infrastructure. Duties Install, configure, and troubleshoot low-voltage systems including CCTV, fiber optic networks, structured cabling, Ethernet, VoIP telephony, and telecommunication systems. Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately execute installations and repairs. Perform fiber splicing and fiber optic system installation to ensure optimal data transmission performance. Conduct network wiring, cable termination (Cat5, Cat6), and structured cabling installation adhering to industry standards such as NEC code requirements. Use diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters, telecommunications testing equipment, and RF testers to identify issues within complex systems. Troubleshoot equipment failures in low-voltage electrical systems, Cisco routers, Juniper devices, Avaya systems, and other communication hardware. Provide field service support by diagnosing problems on-site and implementing effective solutions promptly. Collaborate with clients to understand their needs, deliver excellent customer service, and explain technical issues clearly. Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, repairs, and maintenance activities for future reference. Assist in training junior technicians on best practices for network installation, equipment troubleshooting, and safety protocols. Qualifications Proven experience as a Low Voltage Technician or Service Technician with a focus on telecommunications or networking systems. Strong knowledge of low-voltage electrical wiring including structured cabling (Cat5e/Cat6), network wiring, and cable termination techniques. Hands-on experience with fiber splicing, fiber optic systems installation, and testing procedures. Familiarity with computer networking concepts such as LAN/WAN architecture, Ethernet protocols, Cisco routers/switches, Juniper devices, and VoIP systems like Avaya. Ability to read schematics and technical diagrams accurately; experience with telecommunication testing equipment is highly desirable. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters, RF testers, power tools, hand tools, and other repair equipment. Knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems relevant to low-voltage applications; understanding of NEC standards is preferred. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to clients. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; willingness to travel for field service assignments as needed. Join us in delivering innovative communication solutions! Pay:
$21.00 - $30.00 per hour
