JOB SUMMARY

Our installation and test technicians are responsible for installing, setting up, commissioning and troubleshooting vision, sensor and telematics-based equipment and other mobile products, both in the field and at the bench.

• Travel to customer sites across the US and Canada to install SmarTruck HD equipment, which may include 12V in-cab monitors, cameras, cables, sensors and other hardware (at various vehicle locations), as well as external sensors such as lift-arm, dual-position lift, and proximity sensors.
• Set up and verify new units to ensure they come online, and perform final commissioning and testing so each vehicle is "Ready for Dispatch."
• Troubleshoot systems and components, and perform repairs or replacements for defective or damaged parts, including re-programming or re-imaging existing equipment.
• Provide training to customers and other technicians.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• A minimum of one year of experience in a mobile installation environment (preference given to candidates experienced working with Class 5, 6, 7 and Class 8 vehicles).
• A strong understanding of vehicle electrical systems, including multiplexed systems.
• Strong troubleshooting skills (essential).
• Computer and basic networking skills (essential).
• Education or experience in installing and setting up access points.
• Must have the ability to completely install, program and demonstrate a variety of mobile video and sensor products in a variety of commercial vehicles within the vocational truck markets (Waste, Package Delivery, Construction, Beer & Beverage, Fire EMS etc.).
• Must be willing and able to travel throughout the United States when required.
• Must be willing to travel and/or work non-standard shifts, weekends and possibly holidays if a specific job requires it.
• Must complete and deliver any necessary documentation.
• Must possess the necessary skills required to safely use a variety of hand tools required for the job.
