In this energetic role, you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and repairing fiber optic systems in outdoor environments. Your technical proficiency and hands-on skills will help ensure seamless telecommunications services for our customers. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with state-of-the-art technology, heavy equipment, and outdoor construction processes, all while supporting the expansion of vital communication infrastructure. Duties Install, splice, and test fiber optic cables and systems according to schematics, technical drawings, and industry standards Operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks, power tools, and construction machinery safely and efficiently in outdoor settings Conduct telecommunications testing using specialized equipment to verify network integrity and troubleshoot issues promptly Perform telecommunications outside plant operations including cable pulling, trenching, and conduit installation in compliance with the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) Interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering troubleshooting guides to accurately diagnose and resolve network issues Climb poles or structures using appropriate safety procedures to install or repair fiber optic cables and related infrastructure Support low voltage wiring, Ethernet cabling (LAN), telephony systems, and IT infrastructure installations as needed Requirements Proven experience in field service operations involving fiber optic systems installation and maintenance Ability to operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks safely following all safety protocols Familiarity with telecommunications testing equipment, fiber splicing techniques, and diagnostic tools for troubleshooting network issues Strong knowledge of telecommunications outside plant operations including cabling, trenching, conduit installation, and adherence to NESC standards Experience interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and engineering troubleshooting documents Outdoor work experience in construction or utility environments with the ability to climb structures or poles safely Basic electrical knowledge related to low voltage systems, LAN (Local Area Network), Ethernet cabling, power tools usage, and network infrastructure setup Excellent technical troubleshooting support skills for fiber optic networks and telecommunication systems Valid driver's license with the ability to operate construction vehicles or heavy equipment as required Strong safety awareness with knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety procedures in outdoor work environments Embark on a rewarding career where your technical skills make a real impact!
