Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Marine Technician to join our dynamic team dedicated to maintaining and repairing water transportation equipment. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of marine systems, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will help keep our fleet operating efficiently, supporting water transportation operations across various marine environments. Duties Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on marine engines, propulsion systems, electrical systems, and mechanical components. Troubleshoot electrical issues using schematics, multimeters such as ohmmeters, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments. Interpret technical drawings and schematics to accurately diagnose system faults and implement effective repairs. Conduct electrical diagnostics and troubleshoot marine electrical systems to ensure compliance with safety standards. Use hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, sheet metal tools, and rigging gear to assemble, repair, or replace components. Maintain ship electrical systems and mechanical systems by following established procedures and safety protocols while utilizing personal protective equipment (PPE). Assist with water transportation equipment maintenance including marine engines, propulsion systems, diesel mechanics tasks, and general mechanical systems repair. Support maintenance of heavy lifting operations and assembly tasks involving complex machinery or structural components. Document all repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities thoroughly for compliance and operational records. Experience Proven service technician experience with marine or heavy machinery maintenance preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in marine engine repair and mechanical systems troubleshooting. Familiarity with schematics interpretation, electrical diagnostics, and the use of precision measuring instruments like calipers and ohmmeters. Experience working with ship electrical systems maintenance and marine propulsion systems is highly desirable. Background in military or similar disciplined environments is a plus due to the emphasis on safety protocols and technical precision. Knowledge of water transportation equipment maintenance including diesel mechanics is beneficial. Demonstrated ability to use hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, sheet metal tools, and rigging gear effectively. Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in demanding conditions.
