This role is responsible for ensuring equipment is safe, reliable, and ready for daily field operations. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, a commitment to quality workmanship, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Diagnose, service, and repair small engines including: Job Carts, Cutters, Welders, Air compressors, Other jobsite equipment Perform routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, filters, spark plugs, belts, blades, fuel systems, etc.). Troubleshoot electrical systems, ignition issues, and fuel delivery problems. Inspect equipment for safety issues and ensure compliance with company safety standards. Maintain accurate repair logs, service records, and parts inventory. Identify equipment that is nearing end-of-life and recommend replacement. Coordinate with field supervisors and warehouse staff to prioritize repairs. Keep the shop clean, organized, and compliant with environmental and safety regulations. Assist with equipment setup, testing, and quality checks before deployment to crews. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in small engine repair preferred. 2+ years of experience repairing small engines or similar equipment (commercial environment preferred). Strong diagnostic ability using manual and electronic tools. Knowledge of 2-stroke and 4-stroke engine systems. Ability to read service manuals and schematics. Basic welding, fabrication, and electrical skills a plus. Valid driver's license. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a shop environment. Ability to bend, stoop and twist continuously throughout the day.
