Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Marine Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining water transportation equipment, including marine engines, propulsion systems, and electrical systems. Your expertise will ensure that vessels operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and passionate about marine maintenance and repair. Responsibilities Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on marine engines, propulsion systems, and electrical components Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using schematics, technical drawings, and diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters Repair or replace faulty parts including sheet metal components, wiring, pumps, and mechanical systems with precision tools like calipers and power tools Conduct assembly, fabrication, and rigging tasks to ensure proper installation of marine equipment Maintain ship electrical systems by troubleshooting electrical faults, soldering connections, and ensuring compliance with safety standards using personal protective equipment (PPE) Utilize engineering troubleshooting techniques to identify root causes of complex mechanical or electrical failures Document all maintenance activities accurately in logs and reports while adhering to safety protocols for heavy lifting and water transportation equipment maintenance Requirements Proven service technician experience in marine or vehicle maintenance environments Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in marine engine repair, ship electrical systems maintenance, and marine propulsion systems maintenance Ability to interpret technical schematics, drawings, and technical manuals effectively Experience with electrical diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, soldering, fabrication, and assembly processes Familiarity with rigging techniques, sheet metal work, use of hand tools, power tools, calipers, precision measuring instruments, and heavy lifting procedures Knowledge of military standards or experience working on water transportation equipment is a plus Demonstrated customer service skills with a focus on safety compliance and quality workmanship Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Relevant certifications such as diesel mechanics or marine mechanics are preferred but not mandatory Join us to be part of a dedicated team committed to excellence in marine maintenance!
