Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Marine Mechanic, where you will be at the forefront of maintaining and repairing water transportation equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with sophisticated marine propulsion systems, electrical systems, and mechanical components across a variety of vessels. Your expertise will keep our fleet operating smoothly, supporting water-based operations and transportation with precision and reliability. Duties Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on marine engines, propulsion systems, and mechanical components using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments. Diagnose electrical issues utilizing schematics, electrical diagnostics tools such as ohmmeters, and troubleshooting techniques for marine electrical systems. Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions to accurately repair or fabricate parts as needed. Conduct water transportation equipment maintenance including diesel engine repairs, mechanical systems repair, and ship electrical systems troubleshooting. Utilize rigging skills for lifting, securing, and installing heavy components safely while adhering to personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols. Fabricate or modify sheet metal parts using soldering techniques and sheet metal tools to meet specific repair or assembly requirements. Maintain detailed service records, logs of repairs performed, and ensure compliance with safety standards during all maintenance activities. Qualifications Proven service technician experience with a strong background in marine mechanics or related fields such as heavy vehicle maintenance or diesel mechanics. Familiarity with schematics, technical drawings, and interpreting engineering troubleshooting guides. Experience working with marine electrical systems troubleshooting and ship electrical systems maintenance is highly desirable. Knowledge of marine propulsion systems maintenance along with mechanical knowledge of engines and mechanical systems repair. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, calipers, soldering equipment, and precision measuring instruments like micrometers. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following PPE requirements; experience with rigging is a plus. Strong customer service skills combined with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments. Military background or experience can be advantageous due to familiarity with rigorous maintenance standards and engineering troubleshooting procedures.
