Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Marine Tech/Marine Mechanic and become a vital part of maintaining and repairing water transportation equipment! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of marine engines, electrical systems, mechanical components, and propulsion systems. Your expertise will keep vessels operating safely and efficiently, supporting our commitment to excellence in marine services. Responsibilities Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on marine engines, electrical systems, mechanical components, and propulsion systems to ensure safety and reliability. Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues using schematics, multimeters (ohmmeters), calipers, and other precision measuring instruments. Repair or replace marine engines, electrical wiring, sheet metal parts, and mechanical systems utilizing hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and fabrication techniques. Interpret technical drawings and schematics to accurately assemble or disassemble complex machinery. Conduct water transportation equipment maintenance including rigging, ship electrical systems maintenance, and marine propulsion system upkeep. Follow strict safety protocols by using personal protective equipment (PPE) during all maintenance activities. Collaborate with team members to complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety compliance. Qualifications Proven service technician experience with mechanical or electrical repair in marine or vehicle environments. Strong knowledge of schematics, technical drawings, and engineering troubleshooting methods. Experience with marine engine repair, ship electrical systems troubleshooting, and marine propulsion systems maintenance. Familiarity with diesel mechanics, heavy lifting techniques, fabrication processes, and sheet metal work. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, calipers, ohmmeters, and other precision measuring instruments. Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics accurately for effective diagnostics and repairs. Prior experience with maintenance, repair & operations (MRO), water transportation equipment maintenance, or military service is highly desirable. $25.00 - $55.00 per hour
