Tire Technician Solid Waste Management - 3.6 Albuquerque, NM Job Details Full-time $36,816.00 - $38,958.40 a year 5 hours ago Benefits Paid parental leave Paid holidays Disability insurance Dental insurance Tuition reimbursement Parental leave Employee assistance program Vision insurance Life insurance Qualifications Research High school diploma or GED Driver's License Vehicle tire puncture repair Full Job Description Position Summary This position will be responsible for the maintenance, tire care and repair of Solid Waste tires including light, medium, and heavy-duty automobiles, trucks, and equipment. Job descriptions are intended to present a general list of tasks/duties performed by employees within this job classification. Job Descriptions are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Essential and Supplemental Functions Essential functions: Essential functions may include but are not limited to the functions listed below. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation. Diagnose (and perform repair) malfunctions of tires and suspension. Tire installations, balancing, rotate, repair and inflation tires to prescribed PSI per load requirements. Assist in research and implement new tire technologies to improve processes, increase efficiency and analyze performance. Collect, interpret data and misalignments diagnose performance issues. Communicate findings to management in clear, productive way. Proper execution of required billing documents. Maintain inventory order parts, supplies, lubricants, tires and other materials as needed. Ability to work with tire assemblies from heavy trucks and SWMD Vehicles. Organizes the work site, the vehicles and the appropriate tools and equipment for optimum job efficiency and safety. Ability to work in a fast pace environment while adhering to SWMD policies and procedure.
SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS
Perform general maintenance and cleaning of tire shop area. Perform related duties and responsibilities as required. Minimum Education, Experience And Additional Requirements Education directly related to the minimum requirements below may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. High school diploma or GED required; and One (1) year of tire repair experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License or the ability to obtain by date of hire. Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) month from date of hire.
Working Conditions Environmental:
Shop, field, disposal environment; work around heavy construction equipment; exposure to noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, gases, potentially hazardous chemicals, waste and infectious materials; inclement weather conditions.
Physical:
Essential and supplemental functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for light to heavy lifting and carrying; bending, stooping, kneeling, crawling; standing for prolonged periods of time; operating motorized equipment and vehicles. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Must be able to function well in a physically demanding environment.
