About Us Pittsburgh Tire Shop is a busy independent tire and auto repair shop on Railroad Street. We handle tires, brakes, suspension, alignments, A/C, and engine diagnostics for drivers across the East End and the greater Pittsburgh area. We're open seven days a week, 7:00am to 9:00pm, and we're growing. This is a small shop — no corporate scripts, no upsell quotas, no district manager. Just steady work, good equipment, and a direct line to the owner. Job Summary We're hiring a Tire Technician to handle tire work and basic service. You'll be mounting, balancing, rotating, and repairing tires, plus oil changes, fluid service, and multi-point inspections. If you already know your way around a tire machine and a balancer, you'll be productive here on day one. What You'll Do Mount, balance, rotate, and dismount tires on cars, light trucks, and SUVs Repair flats — patch and plug, valve stems, TPMS sensor service and relearn Perform oil changes, filter changes, and fluid top-offs Complete multi-point inspections and flag safety issues (brake wear, suspension, tread depth) Torque wheels to spec and verify every vehicle before it leaves the bay Receive, move, and organize tire inventory; keep bays and the shop floor clean and safe Explain to customers what their vehicle needs, in plain language — no pressure selling Assist the lead mechanic on larger jobs when the shop gets busy What We're Looking For 1+ year of hands-on tire experience — mounting and balancing specifically Confident on tire machines, wheel balancers, torque wrenches, and impact tools Valid driver's license and a record clean enough to move customer vehicles Able to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly and stay on your feet through a full shift Reliable — shows up on time, every scheduled shift. This matters more to us than anything else on this list Own basic hand tools preferred; we supply all shop equipment and consumables High school diploma or GED Nice to Have (Not Required) TPMS diagnostics and programming Road-force balancing Alignment experience Brake and suspension work Broader automotive experience — we'll invest in someone who wants to grow past tires Pay & Schedule $20.00 per hour Full-time (40 hrs/week) or part-time (20-30 hrs/week) — tell us what you're looking for Shop hours are 7:00am-9:00pm, seven days a week.
