Job Description

Location :
Pacific Northwest |
Tacoma, WA HQ Company:
JOYInc.
Industry:
Wireless Infrastructure | Construction | Data Centers Build More Than a Career JOYInc. is a faith-based, purpose-driven construction company built on a simple belief: Work is one of the greatest classrooms for personal growth and leadership development. Our mission is to Inspire the World with Joy. We build mission-critical communications infrastructure and take on challenging construction projects throughout the Pacific Northwest, but the most important thing we build is people. You do not need tower experience to apply. If you have construction experience, know your way around basic tools, take safety seriously, and are hungry to learn, we can teach you the technical side of the job. What we can't teach is your attitude. We're looking for people who are Humble, Hungry, and Smart — people who want to become better at their craft, better teammates, better leaders, and better people.
The Role:
Tower Technician As a Tower Technician, you'll work alongside experienced crews building and maintaining critical wireless infrastructure.
Your work may include:
Climbing and working on cell towers Installing antennas, radios, cabling, and supporting equipment Using common construction and specialty tools Rigging and material handling Grounding and electrical-related infrastructure Reading plans, drawings, and work instructions Identifying hazards and maintaining a safe jobsite Troubleshooting and completing site upgrades Working with your crew to safely execute the projects that keep our world connected You don't need to know how to do all of this today. We'll train you. JOYInc. provides the training and certifications needed to develop in the role, including Tower Climbing & Rescue, OSHA, CPR/First Aid, RF Safety, rigging, wireless construction skills, and leadership development. Already have relevant experience or certifications? Even better. More Than Tower Work Wireless infrastructure is a major part of what we do, but it isn't the only opportunity at JOYInc. As we continue to grow, team members may have opportunities to cross-train into other construction disciplines, including Data Center infrastructure and hyperscale construction projects. We want to develop people who can build a career here, not lock someone into one job forever. Your Career Can Grow With You Tower Technician doesn't have to be your destination. Tower Technician → Assistant Field Leader (Top Hand) → Field Leader (Foreman) → Leadership Opportunities Advancement isn't based simply on how long you've been here. Growth is earned through contribution, trust, skill, leadership, and results. As your responsibility and value creation grow, additional opportunities can become available, including eligibility for JOYInc.'s OPI (Ownership Profit Incentive) program at qualifying leadership levels. Who Thrives at JOYInc. Our best people are Humble, Hungry, and Smart. Humble — You take feedback, own mistakes, learn from others, and make the team better. Hungry — You want to learn, work hard, and look for what needs to be done instead of waiting to be told. Smart — You use common sense, communicate well, pay attention to what's happening around you, and treat people well. We aren't looking for perfect people. We're looking for people committed to growth. What We're Looking For Prior construction or hands-on trade experience Familiarity with common construction tools Awareness of jobsite hazards and safe work practices Common-sense thinking and problem solving Strong work ethic and reliability Growth mindset and coachability Ability to work effectively as part of a crew Valid driver's license Ability to pass a background check and driving-record review Ability to work at heights after training Ability to lift and carry approximately 50-75 lbs Ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors in changing conditions Willingness to work overtime when projects require it Previous wireless or tower experience is NOT required. Schedule & Travel Most work is Monday through Friday, with overtime common. Some projects may require night or weekend work. Travel opportunities are available but travel is not always required. What Makes JOYInc. Different Faith-Based & Purpose-Driven — Faith, meaning, service, and personal responsibility are part of who we are. LifeLeadership™ Development — We intentionally invest in personal and professional growth. Whole-Person Development — Spiritual, Emotional, Mental, and Physical. Culture Before Skill — Skills can be taught. Character, hunger, humility, and coachability matter more. Career Development — We want today's Tower Technicians to become tomorrow's Field Leaders.
