Duties Operate heavy equipment such as skidster to prepare surfaces for striping and perform related road construction tasks Apply traffic markings using specialized striping equipment with accuracy and adherence to project specifications Conduct utility locating to ensure safe application of markings around underground utilities Manage traffic control for work zones by setting up signs, cones, barriers, and flagging to maintain safe work environments for crews and the public Perform routine maintenance on heavy machinery and hand tools to ensure optimal operation and safety compliance. Adhere strictly to safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), heavy lifting techniques, and outdoor work safety measures Requirements Proven experience operating equipment such as parking lot striper on construction sites or civil infrastructure projects. Able to read plans and layout parking lot or roadway per plan. Demonstrated ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and working with hand tools for extended periods Knowledge of highway maintenance procedures, traffic control standards for work zones. Valid drivers license with clean record. Knowledge of installing thermoplastic striping and markings. Ability to work efficiently under outdoor conditions with physical stamina for long shifts in varying weather conditions.
