Job Description

Job Summary Responsible for maintaining public rights-of-way to ensure safe, reliable access for transportation and utility infrastructure. Essential duties include vegetation management, roadway maintenance, traffic control, equipment operation, and assisting with utility construction and repairs. Work is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions and requires strict adherence to safety regulations and established work practices. Essential duties include mowing, trimming, and removing vegetation within rights-of-way, removing trees and brush that interfere with utility lines, inspecting rights-of-way for hazards and reporting findings, installing, repairing, and maintaining road signs, guardrails, culverts, fences, and other right-of-way infrastructure, assisting with utility line construction, maintenance, and emergency restoration, operating equipment such as tractors, mowers, skid steers, chainsaws, brush cutters, dump trucks, and other maintenance equipment, performing traffic control by setting up work zones, cones, signs, and barricades according to safety standards, and assisting with storm response, debris removal, and emergency call outs. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, valid driver's license, and the ability to obtain a commercial driver's license if required. Knowledge, skills, and abilities include safe equipment operation, basic traffic control procedures. Physical requirements include the ability to perform physically demanding manual labor outdoors in varying weather, frequently walk, stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work on uneven terrain, and occasionally lift and carry up to 100 pounds, with or without assistance, as job duties require.
