Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and vigilant Traffic Control Flagger to ensure the safety and smooth flow of traffic around construction zones, roadway maintenance sites, and civil infrastructure projects. In this role, you will be responsible for directing vehicle and pedestrian traffic, maintaining safety protocols, and assisting construction crews in managing work zone activities. Your energetic presence and clear communication will help prevent accidents, protect workers, and minimize traffic disruptions. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to vital infrastructure projects while working outdoors in dynamic environments. Responsibilities Set up and maintain proper signage, cones, barriers, and flagging equipment to clearly guide traffic around work zones Use hand signals, flags, or electronic stop/slow paddles to control vehicle flow safely and efficiently Communicate effectively with construction crews and drivers to coordinate movements and ensure safety compliance Monitor traffic conditions continuously, adjusting control measures as needed for changing site activities or weather conditions Follow all safety protocols, including FMCSA regulations related to work zone safety and traffic management standards Assist with the setup of detours or lane closures as directed by project supervisors Report any unsafe conditions or incidents immediately to site management for prompt action Qualifications Prior experience in traffic control, construction site work, or outdoor roles involving heavy equipment operation is preferred Knowledge of heavy machinery such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, dump trucks, and front loader trucks is a plus Familiarity with road construction processes including paving, highway maintenance, utility locating, and roadway projects Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely; mechanical knowledge is advantageous Understanding of FMCSA regulations governing commercial truck driving and heavy equipment operation Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, manual handling tasks, and outdoor work in various weather conditions Strong communication skills with the ability to follow safety protocols precisely and work effectively within a team This role is ideal for individuals passionate about road safety and infrastructure development. Pay:
$20.00 per hour Expected hours: 84.0 per week
