Job Description

YVEA is hiring an experienced Journeyman Lineman to construct, maintain, and repair our transmission and distribution electrical system. This is a hands-on, safety-critical role for a skilled tradesperson who takes pride in quality workmanship and reliable service to the communities we power. What You'll Do Build and maintain the transmission and distribution system - clearing right-of-way, digging pole and anchor holes, framing and setting poles and anchors, stringing and sagging conductors, and installing downguys Install and maintain underground equipment, cable, and specialty switches Install transformers, transformer banks, breakers, take-off assemblies, services, regulators, streetlights, meters, and lightning arresters on both energized and de-energized lines Maintain, test, and repair switching structures, substations, oil circuit breakers, oil circuit reclosers, sectionalizers, and transformers Patrol lines, read operations counters, and report conditions needing maintenance Perform voltage checks, load surveys, and load balancing Support meter technicians with C.T. and P.T. meter installations Respond to trouble calls on scheduled standby Maintain assigned vehicles, tools, and rubber goods in safe operating condition Complete required documentation - job briefings, staking sheets, switching orders, outage reports, and daily time/mileage logs Lead and oversee the performance and quality of work for crew members and apprentices What You Bring Strong working knowledge of electrical transmission and distribution systems Experience with pole-line construction, underground equipment, and substation maintenance Ability to work safely on energized and de-energized lines Strong documentation and reporting habits Willingness to perform scheduled standby duty Leadership skills to guide crew members and apprentices Benefits Health, Dental, and Vision insurance 401(k) Pension Plan Paid Time Off (PTO) Paid Holidays Wellness benefit Business Travel Accident insurance Life Insurance And more!
