Job Description
Job Overview Join our dynamic team as an Aerial Lineman and become a vital part of building and maintaining essential telecommunications infrastructure. In this energetic role, you will work outdoors, climbing poles, repair, and upgrade fiber optic cables, telecommunications networks, and related equipment. Your expertise will ensure reliable connectivity for communities and businesses, supporting critical communication systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop technical skills while working with heavy equipment and advanced tools in a fast-paced environment. Experience Prior experience in field service or outdoor telecommunications work is required. Demonstrated ability to operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks, power tools, and hand tools safely and effectively Hands-on experience with fiber splicing, fiber optic network installation, and troubleshooting technical issues within telecommunications systems Knowledge of telecommunication standards including LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network), Ethernet, low voltage wiring, telephony systems, and IT infrastructure Construction experience involving telecommunications cable installation or outdoor utility projects is advantageous Skilled in interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and using diagnostic tools for engineering troubleshooting support Comfortable working at heights through climbing techniques with a focus on safety compliance under NESC guidelines Duties Safely climb utility poles, and other structures using climbing gear and safety harnesses to access work sites at elevated heights Operate bucket trucks and other heavy equipment to facilitate the installation and maintenance of fiber optic cables and telecommunications infrastructure Install, splice, and test fiber optic cables ensuring high-quality connections in outdoor environments Use diagnostic tools and telecommunications testing equipment to troubleshoot network issues and verify system performance Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and construction plans to accurately execute cable routing and installation tasks Perform telecommunications outside plant operations including cable splicing, network cabling, and testing of fiber optic systems Follow all safety protocols in accordance with the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and team members Join us if you're passionate about building reliable communication networks!
