Job Description

Position Summary:
The Journeyman Lineman performs overhead and underground construction, maintenance, and outage restoration on transmission and distribution systems. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient electric service to our members while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and public service.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform electric power line construction, maintenance, repaid, and emergency restoration, including pole setting, framing, conductor installation, equipment installation, and work on energized systems. Safely operate and maintain utility vehicles, equipment, and radio communications in accordance with Cooperative policies and applicable regulations. Identify, report, and correct potential causes of power outages or system failures. Maintain strong knowledge of electrical system configurations, line feeds, power sources, and operating procedures. Maintain clean, organized work areas and comply with Cooperative policies, procedures, and professional conduct standards.
Additional Information:
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a recognized utility or union-affiliated Journeyman Lineworker apprenticeship program. Extensive journeyman-level experience in overhead and underground electric distribution construction, maintenance, operations, and outage restoration. Ability to work effectively and professionally with members and the public. Valid Oregon Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A, or ability to obtain one; subject to applicable substance abuse testing requirements. Ability to reside within a 45-minute driving distance of the reporting facility and remain accessible by telephone. Demonstrated technical skills, job knowledge, problem-solving ability, sound judgement, and effective interpersonal skills. Basic computer proficiency, including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
