If you would like to learn more about UES, please visit: https://utilities.tamu.edu/ What We Want Utilities Line Technicians at all levels install, maintain, test, and repair overhead and underground high‑voltage electrical distribution systems, including cables, transformers, switchgear, and related equipment, while working at heights and in confined spaces. Depending on experience level, duties range from assisting and training in core tasks to independently performing complex work, overseeing projects, and leading crews in planning, scheduling, and safe execution of operations. All roles require collaboration, adherence to safety standards, and progressive technical skill development in the line technician trade.

Qualifications Required Education and Experience Master Utilities Line Technician:

Requires high school or equivalent and 7 years of experience in overhead and underground electrical distribution system maintenance and operation. Responsible for installing and servicing high voltage distribution systems. Valid Class B drivers license or ability to obtain within 6 months. Pay Range•$36.06 to $54.87

Senior Utilities Line Technician:

Requires high school or equivalent and 5 years of experience in overhead and underground electrical distribution system maintenance and operation. Responsible for installing and servicing high voltage distribution systems. Valid Class B drivers license or ability to obtain within 6 months. Pay Range•$32.70 to $49.75

Utilities Line Technician:

Requires high school or equivalent and 3 years of experience in overhead and underground electrical distribution system maintenance and operation. Responsible for installing and servicing high voltage distribution systems. Valid Class B drivers license or ability to obtain within 6 months. Pay Range•$26.64 to $40.53

Utilities Line Technician Assistant:

Requires high school or equivalent and 1 year of related experience in general electrical, or electronics. Under supervision, receives training and assists in installing and maintaining high voltage distribution systems. Valid Class B drivers license or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Pay Range:
