Position Summary The Wind Site Technician II is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, inspection, and repair of wind turbines to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation. This role plays a critical part in supporting renewable energy production by performing preventive and corrective maintenance activities while adhering to all safety and operational standards. Key Responsibilities Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on wind turbines and associated equipment. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control system issues. Conduct inspections and safety checks to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards. Complete repairs and component replacements as needed to minimize turbine downtime. Accurately document maintenance activities, inspections, and operational findings. Record work activities using appropriate time-coding procedures to support operational tracking and reporting. Collaborate with site teams to improve turbine performance and implement best practices. Maintain a strong safety culture and ensure all work is performed in accordance with Vestas's safety requirements. Required Qualifications Minimum of one of the following: 6+ months of experience with a Wind Technician certification, OR 1+ year of wind turbine maintenance experience, OR 2+ years of experience in mechanical, electrical, industrial maintenance, or related technical fields. High school diploma or GED equivalent. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Legal authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements. Preferred Qualifications Previous wind industry experience.

GWO certifications include:

Basic Safety Training (BST) Basic Technical Training (BTT) Advanced Rescue Training (ART) Experience troubleshooting electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, or industrial systems. Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting capabilities. Commitment to workplace safety and compliance. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills. Ability to work independently in remote field environments. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb for extended periods. Ability to climb vertical ladders and work at heights ranging from 60 to 100 meters. Ability to work within confined spaces when required. Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds. Visual acuity, depth perception, color recognition, and hearing are sufficient for safe job performance. Ability to obtain and maintain required safety certifications, including: Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Electrical Qualification Fall Protection and Rescue Confined Space Entry Emergency Descent Training Ability to safely use required PPE and fall protection equipment. Combined weight of employee, PPE, and gear must not exceed 300 pounds.
