Diamond Millworks is looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Cabinet & Millwork Finish Prepper to join our shop team in Hutto, Texas. This position will focus on preparing custom cabinets, doors, trim, panels, and architectural millwork for professional painting and staining. We are looking for someone who takes pride in producing clean, consistent work and understands that proper preparation is critical to achieving a high-quality finished product. Responsibilities Sand and prepare cabinets, doors, drawer fronts, trim, panels, and custom millwork Fill nail holes, seams, imperfections, and other surface defects Perform final sanding between primer and finish coats as needed Prepare wood surfaces for paint, stain, and clear finishes Mask and protect areas prior to finishing Inspect components for defects or imperfections before they move into the finishing process Keep work areas clean and organized Assist the finishing and production teams as needed Handle custom cabinetry and millwork carefully to prevent damage Preferred Qualifications Previous experience with cabinet, furniture, woodworking, automotive body prep, painting, or finish preparation is preferred Experience using orbital sanders and other sanding equipment Familiarity with different wood species, MDF, plywood, and cabinet materials is a plus Strong attention to detail Ability to work efficiently while maintaining quality Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a production team Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move cabinet components and materials We are looking for someone who wants to become a long-term part of a growing custom millwork operation and takes pride in helping produce high-end cabinetry and architectural millwork.
