Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Millwork Engineer to lead the technical development of commercial cabinet and fixture projects. This role is responsible for transforming architectural plans and project specifications into fully engineered, production-ready shop drawings and CNC programs. This position owns all technical decisions related to construction methods, materials, and hardware integration.
Key Responsibilities:
Create detailed shop drawings for cabinets, millwork, and fixtures Interpret architectural drawings and specifications Engineer products for manufacturability and efficiency Review and validate hardware specifications and requirements Design cabinet and fixture construction methods Develop CNC-ready models, programs, and toolpaths Generate material takeoffs, cutlists, and hardware lists Ensure all drawings meet company standards and project requirements Identify conflicts and issue RFIs through project management Collaborate with production to improve build processes and efficiency
Decision Authority:
Cabinet and fixture construction methods Material selection (within project specifications) Hardware integration and installation methods CNC machining strategies
Qualifications:
3+ years experience in millwork drafting, engineering, or cabinet design Proficiency in CAD software (Cabinet Vision, Microvellum, AutoCAD, or similar) Strong understanding of cabinet construction and joinery methods Experience with CNC programming and manufacturing workflows Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specs
Preferred Experience:
Commercial millwork or retail fixture experience Knowledge of hardware systems (Blum, Hettich, etc.) Familiarity with AWI standards Key Traits for

$20.00 - $35.00 per hour
