Job Summary:

Seeking a Senior Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) for a 13-week travel assignment. This role primarily works night shifts and requires an experienced technician who can independently manage sterile processing operations and occasionally serve as a shift lead . The technician will support both the Main OR and Outpatient Surgery Center , ensuring surgical instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, assembled, and available for procedures. Duties Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, wrap, sterilize, and distribute surgical instruments and trays. Process flexible endoscopes, probes, and specialty surgical equipment according to infection control standards. Operate sterilization and decontamination equipment, including autoclaves, washers, ultrasonic cleaners, and Steris systems. Monitor sterilization cycles using biological and chemical indicators and maintain accurate documentation. Assemble instrument sets, organize trays, process loaner and consignment trays, and maintain preference cards. Support a wide variety of surgical specialties, including Orthopedics, Total Joints, Robotics, Cardiac, Vascular, Trauma, OB/GYN, Urology, Endoscopy, General Surgery, Ophthalmology, Plastics, and Podiatry. Float between the Main OR and Pavilion Surgery Center as needed. Participate in on-call coverage, including weekends and holidays. Occasionally function as a Shift Lead by assisting with workflow coordination and mentoring staff. Requirements Minimum 5 years of Sterile Processing experience. At least 3 years of Shift Lead, Team Lead, or Preceptor experience in a hospital setting. Previous travel assignment experience required (first-time travelers are not accepted). Current CBSPD or HSPA (IAHCSMM) certification. BLS certification required. Experience using Epic (preferred). Experience with Da Vinci Xi robotic instruments (required). Experience with the following sterilization equipment: Getinge Autoclave, Amsco Autoclave, Steris V-Pro, Steris System 1E, Getinge 86 Series Washer, Triton 72 Ultrasonic Cleaner Strong knowledge of instrument sterilization, high-level disinfection, endoscope reprocessing, aseptic technique, tray assembly, and infection prevention standards. Must be willing to float between departments, work variable night shifts, take on-call assignments, and work weekends and holidays as required. AL01
