Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic team as an Energy Center Digester Operator, where you will play a vital role in managing and maintaining our waste-to-energy processes. This energetic position involves overseeing the operation of digesters and related systems to ensure efficient biogas production, environmental compliance, and safety. You will be instrumental in supporting sustainable energy initiatives by operating complex equipment, troubleshooting technical issues, and adhering to strict safety protocols. Responsibilities Operate and monitor digesters, pumps, valves, and auxiliary equipment to optimize biogas production and maintain system stability. Conduct routine inspections of piping, instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), electrical systems, and mechanical components to ensure operational integrity. Perform preventive maintenance on equipment such as boilers, gas turbines, pumps, and power generation systems to prevent downtime. Respond promptly to system alarms or malfunctions by troubleshooting issues using engineering principles and technical knowledge. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations by accurately recording data related to wastewater treatment, gas emissions, and other environmental parameters. Manage heavy equipment operation safely during maintenance activities or emergency response situations while utilizing personal protective equipment (PPE) including respiratory protection. Collaborate with team members to coordinate daily operations, support safety initiatives, and uphold best practices in hazardous environments. Requirements Proven experience in water treatment, wastewater treatment, or power plant operations with a focus on energy generation systems. Mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to interpret piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs). Familiarity with oil & gas industry standards, gas turbine generation, boiler operation, and electrical systems is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to operate heavy machinery and perform heavy lifting safely in outdoor work environments. Strong understanding of safety regulations including PPE use, respiratory protection protocols, and emergency response readiness. Excellent math skills for precise measurements and troubleshooting engineering issues. Prior experience working with pipeline systems or in outdoor settings that require environmental compliance awareness. Ability to lead or work within a team environment while maintaining a focus on safety and operational excellence.
