$1,049 Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Central Sterile Technician / Sterile Processing Technologist to support the Central Sterile and Perioperative Services team in Gardner, MA. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of sterile processing procedures, surgical instrumentation, sterilization techniques, and infection prevention standards. Job Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification required. Minimum of 6 months of Central Sterile/Sterile Processing experience . Strong knowledge of sterile processing standards and practices. Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and teamwork skills. Ability to work independently and maintain a high level of accuracy in a fast-paced environment. Essential Responsibilities Prepare, assemble, package, sterilize, and distribute surgical instruments and supplies. Ensure proper operation of steam and gas sterilizers and complete required biological and chemical testing. Inspect sterilizers for visible signs of malfunction and report issues appropriately. Apply knowledge of sterilization principles to correctly wrap and package instruments for sterilization. Process equipment and supplies using appropriate steam or ethylene oxide sterilization methods. Perform tray assembly and prepare supplies for sterilization while monitoring sterility dates. Clean and reprocess scopes manually and through appropriate high-level disinfection processes. Maintain proper inventory levels and assist with ordering Central Sterile supplies. Stock Central Service dispensing racks, supply carts, and nursing unit supply areas. Communicate operational needs with the OR Charge Nurse and practice leadership. Monitor instrument and supply throughput to support efficient perioperative operations. Apply aseptic techniques and maintain a clean and organized work environment. Assist with orientation and training of new Central Sterile personnel. Participate in departmental performance improvement and continuing education activities. Maintain required certification and continuing education. Complete related clerical, supply, and charge reconciliation duties as needed. Assist other departments and perform additional job-related duties as assigned. Physical Requirements Ability to occasionally exert 20-50 pounds of force and frequently exert 10-25 pounds of force . Frequent reaching, handling, grasping, and turning. Frequent stooping and bending. Ability to safely handle and transport surgical instruments, trays, equipment, and supplies.
