• Job Title: Production Technician
• Job Description
• As a Production Technician, you play a hands-on role in fabricating and finishing foam and urethane pipeline pigs used for cleaning, sealing, batching, and inspection inside pipelines. You prepare raw pig bodies, apply specialized coatings, and perform detailed inspections to ensure each product meets strict quality and sizing specifications before shipment.
• Responsibilities
• + Prepare raw pig bodies prior to coating, ensuring surfaces are clean and ready for fabrication.

+ Inspect foam and urethane cores for defects, damage, or irregularities before processing.

+ Trim and shape pigs using knives, saws, sanding tools, and other cutting equipment to meet required dimensions.

+ Verify the correct size, model, and specifications of each pig against the work order and production documentation.

+ Apply coatings to pig surfaces using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment to create a durable outer layer suitable for pipeline use.

+ Ensure even coating coverage and proper thickness across the entire pig surface, rotating pigs during application to prevent runs or pooling.

+ Place coated pigs in drying or curing racks and monitor the curing process for quality and consistency.

+ Inspect coated pigs for bubbles, thin spots, and other defects, making adjustments or rework as needed.

+ Perform final measurements and quality checks on completed pigs to confirm they meet production standards.

+ Tag finished pigs accurately for shipment and prepare them for packaging or dispatch.

+ Load molds into an industrial polyethylene oven, remove them safely after processing, and perform testing to confirm proper curing and performance.

+ Read and interpret work orders and production specifications to follow correct procedures and sequence of tasks.

+ Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper handling and storage of chemicals, coatings, and tools.

+ Operate basic production machinery and tools such as cutting tools, sanders, and sprayers in a safe and efficient manner.

+ Lift, move, and position pigs, often weighing between 20-50 pounds, throughout the production process.

+ Work collaboratively in a shop environment that uses coatings, adhesives, and fabrication tools, following safety and quality guidelines.

• Essential Skills
• + Ability to read and understand work orders and follow detailed production specifications.

+ Experience maintaining a clean work area and safely handling chemicals, coatings, and adhesives.

+ Basic machine operation skills, including use of cutting tools, sanders, and sprayers.

+ Capability to lift and move products weighing approximately 20-50 pounds on a regular basis.

+ Comfort working in a shop environment that involves industrial coatings, adhesives, and fabrication tools.

+ Attention to detail for inspecting cores and finished products for defects and verifying measurements.

+ Ability to work safely with industrial ovens and related testing processes.

• Additional Skills & Qualifications
• + Experience in industrial production, fabrication, or coatings environments.

+ Familiarity with foam or urethane materials and their handling in manufacturing settings.

+ Understanding of basic quality control practices, including visual inspection and measurement verification.

• Pay and Benefits
• The pay range for this position is $17.

00 - $19.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
