Job Summary We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator/Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and set up CNC machines—including lathes and milling machines—using advanced programming skills to produce high-precision components for our fly fishing equipment. Your expertise in machining tools, blueprint reading, and quality measurement will ensure we maintain our reputation for excellence and innovation. Duties Set up and operate CNC machining equipment such as CNC lathes and milling machines, ensuring precise machine setup and calibration. Program CNC machines using G-code, M-code, and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software to produce complex parts efficiently. Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately to guide machining processes. Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement tools to verify part quality. Conduct machine maintenance, troubleshooting, and adjustments to optimize performance while adhering to safety standards. Inspect finished parts for conformance to specifications through CNC quality inspection techniques and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing). Assist in tooling setup, changeovers, and manual machining tasks when necessary to support production needs. Skills Proficiency in CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code; experience with Fanuc controls preferred. Strong knowledge of CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software like SolidWorks and general blueprint reading skills. Mechanical aptitude with understanding of machining tools, grinders, hand tools, power tools, and tooling setups. Experience with electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is a plus. Ability to interpret mechanical blueprints and apply GD&T principles accurately. Skilled in the use of precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines for quality control. Knowledge of CNC machine setup, calibration, troubleshooting, and basic math skills for measurement calculations. Familiarity with manufacturing principles such as lean manufacturing practices; experience with plastics injection molding is advantageous. Mechanical knowledge related to metal machining, welding, lathe operations, milling processes, and manual machining techniques. Ability to operate forklifts safely when needed for material handling.
