Beyond running our CNC machining centers, nesting and drilling machines, and industrial edge bander, you'll help set up and change over machines, calibrate units, handle routine maintenance and minor repairs, and keep production running smoothly. This is a hands-on role for someone who both operates the equipment and can keep it dialed in. Responsibilities Machine operation Operate CNC machining centers, panel/nesting saws, drilling machines, and edge banders to produce parts to spec Run and adjust programs through the machine controls (TPA Control experience a strong plus); fine-tune feeds and speeds during milling Operate the automated panel storage and handling system (Barbaric-type) to feed material (melamine board, MDF, HDF) to work areas Run the edge bander using EVA and PUR glue systems; set and monitor pre-milling, end-trimming, chamfering, and scraping units Setup, calibration & upkeep Set up and change machines over to new parts per work instructions Calibrate machine units — including pre-milling, end-trimming, scraping, and buffing units on the edge bander — for accurate, clean results Set up the CNC drilling center and verify hole size and accuracy to prevent assembly defects Select, install, and adjust cutting tools (saws, cutters, drill bits); monitor tool/bit wear and keep tooling in good condition Perform routine maintenance: clean dust and chips, check dust extraction, monitor glue levels, and flush the glue system after PUR use Diagnose and resolve minor mechanical faults; report larger issues promptly Quality & support Perform quality control using calipers and tape measure — checking dimensions, angles, glue-joint strength, and finish Check first-run test parts to catch problems before full production Train and guide operators on correct use of the equipment Operate a forklift to move material and finished goods as needed Qualifications 1-2+ years of experience in furniture or woodworking production (required) Hands-on experience with brands like Barbaric, KDT (TPA controls), IMA, Homag, or Biesse is a major plus Ability to read shop drawings, specifications, and schematics Knowledge of sheet materials (melamine board, MDF, HDF), adhesives (EVA/PUR), and edge materials Comfortable with basic setup, calibration, and minor troubleshooting — not just running the machine Strong attention to detail (millimeter tolerances), disciplined, and safety-conscious Forklift experience a plus
Pay:
$18.00 - $23.00 per hour Application Question(s): How many years of experience do you have in furniture or woodworking production? Which of these machine brands have you worked with: Barbaric, KDT, IMA, Homag, Biesse, SCM, Felder or none? Are you comfortable setting up and calibrating machines, not just operating them? Do you have a valid forklift certification, or are you willing to get one?
