CNC Machine Set-Up Operator III -

Group Lead Location:
DeLand, FL Reports To:

Operations Manager Schedule Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, with a 1-hour unpaid meal break. Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required.

Position Summary Hands-on working lead responsible for coordinating daily activities in the machining and tooling area while performing CNC setup, operation, and programming in a MIM environment. Provides technical guidance, supports production flow, and serves as an escalation point for machining, tooling, quality, and equipment issues. Key Responsibilities Coordinate daily workflow, priorities, and task assignments within the machining/tooling area. Perform setup and operation of CNC and other production machines. Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs using CAD/CAM software, including SolidWorks. Select and adjust tooling, fixtures, offsets, and machine settings. Troubleshoot machining, tooling, programming, and equipment issues. Inspect parts and make adjustments to maintain quality and specifications. Verify job travelers, work orders, and production documentation for accuracy and compliance. Provide hands-on training, guidance, and support to team members. Monitor production, quality, and workflow and escalate issues as appropriate. Promote adherence to safety, GMP, GDP, and standard work requirements. Qualifications High school diploma and additional technical school certifications preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience in CNC and machine setup and operation. Advanced CNC setup, operation, tooling, and troubleshooting experience. Experience with CAD/CAM programming and SolidWorks. Knowledge of machining processes, blueprints, GD&T, and inspection methods. Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to lead and coordinate work without direct supervisory authority.
