Job Description

Job Title:
CNC Machine Operator 1st, 2nd & Weekend shifts - $22-$32/HR Job Description This role involves operating CNC machines in a high-volume manufacturing environment to produce quality parts safely and efficiently. You will load raw materials, monitor automated equipment including machines with robotic arms, and perform basic quality inspections using precision measuring tools. You will follow written work instructions and contribute to a culture of continuous learning, with clear opportunities to grow into more advanced technical and leadership roles. Responsibilities Operate CNC machines in a production manufacturing environment to produce parts according to specifications. Load raw material into CNC machines and ensure correct setup of workpieces before operation. Monitor machine operation, including automated equipment and machines with robotic arms, to maintain consistent production. Inspect parts as they come off the machine using micrometers, calipers, and other hand measurement tools to verify quality and dimensions. Read and follow basic work instructions, production documentation, and standard operating procedures. Handle materials safely and efficiently throughout the production process, including staging, loading, and unloading parts. Identify and communicate any quality issues, machine irregularities, or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with plant guidelines. Support continuous improvement by learning new machine operations, asking questions, and actively seeking to understand CNC processes. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and maintain high standards of quality and efficiency. Essential Skills Minimum of 6+ months of experience in a role requiring mechanical inclination (such as lube technician, construction, shop class, or similar) or 6+ months of manufacturing experience with machine operation. Ability to operate or learn to operate CNC machines, including equipment with computer-controlled interfaces. Basic ability to read and follow written work instructions and production documentation. Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools, machinery, and moving mechanical components. Willingness and ability to perform basic quality inspection on parts using micrometers, calipers, and other hand measurement tools. Strong interest in learning CNC technology and machine operation, demonstrated by asking thoughtful questions and clearly articulating motivation to learn. Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality parts. Ability to work in a production environment, meeting output goals while maintaining safety and quality standards. Why Work Here? You will join a stable organization that offers a strong long-term culture, competitive pay structures including shift differentials, and significant overtime opportunities for those who want to increase their earnings. The company provides a clear career path, allowing motivated individuals to advance from entry-level roles into setup, leadership, engineering, or maintenance positions. You can take advantage of a generous tuition reimbursement program of up to $3,000 per year, with training and certification courses covered up front, supporting your professional growth and technical development. A substantial sign-on bonus program rewards your commitment once you transition to a direct hire, and the workplace emphasizes learning, curiosity, and engagement over years of experience alone, creating an environment where motivated people can thrive. Work Environment The role is based in a large manufacturing facility that is fully air conditioned, offering a comfortable work environment compared to many production plants. While the building exterior is older, the interior is well maintained and equipped with up-to-date CNC machines, including automated systems and robotic arms. You will work around production machinery, materials, and measurement tools such as micrometers and calipers, following standard safety practices and plant procedures. The operation supports multiple shifts, including second and third shift options with an additional shift differential, and provides ample opportunities for overtime for those who want extra hours. The environment is structured, production-focused, and designed to support both efficiency and continuous learning. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Isanti, MN.
