Creo Parametric Full Job Description Job Summary:
We're seeking a skilled Machinist to join our Product Design Engineering team—someone who knows their way around a wide range of tools, materials, and processes. In this role, you'll help bring firearm concepts to life, building prototypes for everything from early visualization to hands-on testing and even live fire demos. You'll work closely with engineers to refine and improve designs, always keeping safety and performance front and center while ensuring every project meets our strict requirements.
Technical Responsibilities:
Provide machining services in support of Product Design Engineering projects across all Colt firearm products and accessories. Perform prototype fabrication in the Model Shop, which includes interpreting CAD models, drawings, and design specifications or requirements. Work closely with product design engineers to provide feedback and guidance during the conceptualization and prototyping process. Determine tool selection, material selection, and fixtures that would best suit the application. Support testing activities through measurement and data logging as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Tool and Die Maker Journeyman (State certification). Prefer 6 years of experience in a product development environment desired. Prefer 10 years of toolmaking in precision manufacturing setting (firearm, aerospace, automotive, medical, or similar). Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Commitment to producing high-quality products. Proficient knowledge of
GD&T, ASME Y14.5
Experience in developing products for commercial and government sectors. Experience with measuring equipment (Micro Height, Calipers, Comparator, CMM, etc.).
Software knowledge required:
Mastercam Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) SolidWorks Creo / PTC
