CNC Setup & Programming Specialist 3 YRS EXP REQ

Job Description

Established, growing Bucks County, Pennsylvania-based contract manufacturing company is seeking an experienced CNC Setup & Programming Specialist to join our team. We are looking for a skilled CNC programmer who can independently take ownership of the machining process — from reviewing complex prints and determining the best machining approach to programming, setup, first-piece inspection, production troubleshooting, and process improvement. The ideal candidate is an experienced CNC professional with strong technical judgment who enjoys solving challenging machining problems and producing high-quality precision components. This individual will play an important role in improving efficiency, supporting production, and helping the company continue to grow. Key Responsibilities Independently review blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T requirements and determine the most effective machining approach Program, set up, and operate CNC mills and/or lathes to produce complex, precision components Develop or modify CNC programs using G-code and/or CAM software Select appropriate tooling, work holding, fixtures, cutting parameters, speeds, and feeds Take ownership of jobs from initial setup through first-piece approval and production Troubleshoot machining, tooling, programming, and quality issues and implement effective solutions Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment Maintain tight tolerances and consistently ensure parts meet quality specifications Work with engineering and production personnel to improve setups, cycle times, tooling, and overall manufacturing efficiency Help identify opportunities for process improvement and continuous improvement Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain an organized, professional work area Qualifications 3+ years of CNC Programing & Set-up experience (mill, lathe, or multi-axis preferred) Proven ability to program, set up, troubleshoot and operate CNC equipment independently Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, speeds & feeds Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, CamWorks, or similar) preferred Ability to read and interpret complex drawings and specifications Knowledge of GD&T and quality inspection processes Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and meet production deadlines Preferred Skills Experience with multi-axis machining (4-axis/5-axis) Familiarity with ERP or shop management systems Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience Experience working with a variety of materials (aluminum, steel, stainless, plastics, etc.) Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly rate based on experience Overtime opportunities Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off and holidays Ongoing training and opportunities for professional growth Work Environment Modern, well-maintained machining facility Team-oriented culture with a focus on quality and safety Consistent workflow with a mix of short-run and production work Why Join Us?
