In this role, you will develop, write, and optimize CNC programs for a variety of complex machining equipment, CNC machines, CNC lathes, and milling centers. Your expertise will ensure high-quality production, efficient tooling setup, and adherence to tight tolerances. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with state-of-the-art CAD/CAM software and precision measurement tools while supporting continuous improvement initiatives through lean manufacturing principles. Responsibilities Develop and modify CNC programs using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or equivalent to produce complex parts with precision. Set up machining tools and fixtures on CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, CNC machines, ensuring proper alignment and calibration using measurement instruments like bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Interpret mechanical blueprints and engineering drawings with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards to accurately translate design specifications into machine instructions. Perform tooling selection, setup, and adjustments for various CNC tooling systems to optimize machining performance and tool life. Conduct precision measurements during machining processes to verify part dimensions and quality using measurement instruments such as dial indicators, micrometers, calipers, and measurement software. Troubleshoot machining issues by analyzing tool wear, machine calibration, or programming errors; implement corrective actions promptly. Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying waste reduction opportunities in machining workflows and implementing process improvements for efficiency. Requirements Proven experience programming CNC machines using Fanuc controls HAAS controls or similar systems with a strong understanding of G-code programming language. Proficiency in CAD software such as Master Cam, SolidWorks or AutoCAD for designing parts and creating manufacturing drawings. Hands-on experience with CAM software for generating efficient toolpaths on CNC milling machines and lathes. Mechanical knowledge of metal machining processes including electrical discharge machining (EDM), tooling setup, geometry calculations, and material properties. Ability to interpret complex blueprints with GD&T specifications accurately; familiarity with blueprint reading standards is essential. Strong understanding of measurement techniques utilizing bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), bore gauges, and other precision measuring instruments. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to streamline operations and reduce waste while maintaining high quality standards. Familiarity with 5-axis CNC machining operations and engineering CAD design tools like CATIA or SolidWorks is highly desirable. Excellent math skills for precise calculations related to machining tolerances and tool paths; ability to troubleshoot technical issues efficiently.
