Job Description

The primary responsibility of the Fabrication Specialist position will be creating piece programs allowing part completion in manufacturing. Also the Fabrication Specialist will work towards improving fabrication performance for Fabrication Shop while implementing standardized processes for our structural equipment. The position will provide technical support to the fabrication department.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Create nesting and forming programs for our sheet metal machinery Create milling programs for our structural machinery Create and maintain routings of fabricated piece parts Process ECN's related to fabricated components per our ECN procedure Use CAD (computer-aided-program) software as needed to assist in program creation Assist sales departments with quoting assistance when required Assist in Fabrication process development and improvement Assist in Quality related activities, including first piece inspection Support manufacturing Follow the Marion schedule and communicate behind schedule occurrences as early as possible Assist Engineering with design concepts and their manufacturability Attend trade shows as needed Fill out corrective action documents Attend Order Review meetings Maintain regular attendance to meet customer demands Adhere to Marion Body Works Inc. Quality Policy.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Good computer drawing skills and attention for detail. Read and interpret drawings and blueprints Determine component parts and assembly sequence for punching, braking, machining CAD Operator needs to have good conceptualization skills. Skilled in geometry and algebra—this is essential to the whole designing process, since they will need to calculate proportions, circumference, area and other values. A strong work ethic Organizational skills Computer Aid Design Software, ie Solid Works People skills Ability to teach others Ability to manage multiple tasks Ability to work under pressure, in a fast paced environment is needed. Must be able to work with very little supervision Computer and Electronics proficiency Advanced Mathematical Skills Critical Thinking Quality Control Analysis Demonstrate complete knowledge of mission, value, and ethics statement.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Technical Degrees or Equivalent experience 1 to 3 years or more years of experience in metal fabrication PC proficiency Solid Modeling software experience
