Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Powder Coater to join our operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying high-quality powder coatings to a variety of metal and fabricated parts, ensuring they meet strict quality standards and safety protocols. Your expertise will help deliver durable, visually appealing finishes that meet customer specifications. Responsibilities Prepare surfaces for coating by performing surface cleaning, sanding, and surface preparation techniques suitable for construction painting and fabrication projects. Operate powder coating equipment, including spray guns, airless paint sprayers, and conventional spray systems to apply coatings evenly across different materials. Interpret production documents such as work orders, blueprints, and process specifications to ensure accurate application of coatings. Handle materials safely using proper materials handling procedures and operate forklifts or cranes as needed for loading and unloading parts. Adhere strictly to safety protocols by wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators and respiratory protection devices, to prevent inhalation of powders or fumes. Conduct visual color comparisons and quality inspections to ensure coatings meet color consistency and finish standards. Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment, perform routine maintenance on spray guns and power tools, and document production activities accurately. Skills Knowledge of powder coating processes, including application techniques such as conventional spraying, airless paint spraying, and finishing methods. Mechanical aptitude with experience in machining, fabrication, assembly, or auto painting is a plus. Familiarity with construction painting surface preparation techniques and industrial painting standards. Ability to interpret production documents accurately and follow detailed instructions diligently. Strong understanding of safety protocols related to PPE use, respiratory protection, and hazard awareness in manufacturing environments. Experience operating hand tools, power tools, cranes, or forklifts for materials handling and fabrication tasks.
